We’re building towards a Week of Action!

Join us the last week of February (Feb 24-28) and be a part of our push to grow union support, increase pressure on Sorenson and ZP owners, and share our stories.

How does it work?

The Week of Action is meant to increase engagement and publicity for our ASL Interpreters Union. Every day, we’ll have events, media, and actions to join in-person and virtually. We’ll highlight some of the prominent issues we face as interpreters and the importance of working together with our Deaf community members throughout the week.

 

 

 

Monday, February 24

Theme: SHOWING OUR UNITY

Action: We’ll publish our updated photo collage with 60% supporter growth since our last post.

Action: Join our social media outreach block. We’ll have sample language to share on posts, talking points to promote issues we’re organizing around, and explainers on how to help boost our visibility. Monday, Feb 24 at 1pm PT/4pm ET on Zoom.

Tuesday, February 25

Theme: HEALTH & SAFETY

Action: Release of health and safety data from our survey of VRS interpreters nationwide.

Wednesday, February 26

Theme: FCC ACCOUNTABILITY

Action: Press conference in front of the FCC in Washington DC. Texas Congressman Greg Casar will join VRS interpreters and Deaf users to speak about the issues workers and the Deaf community are facing.
